On Friday evening, September 13, the annual Late Summer Singing took place in the atmospheric Oude Kerk in Maasland. Under the inspiring organized leadership of Mart and Coby van Buuren, music lovers came together to end the summer in an inspiring way. The church was filled to the last seat, and the warm atmosphere made it an evening to remember.
Musical recognition and solidarity
Famous Christian songs were central to the program, and were sung along with full conviction by those present. It was a celebration of recognition, in which the power of singing together created a strong bond among the audience. Brassband Rijnmond provided impressive musical intermezzos with their warm brass sounds, and organist Reinier Kroos provided virtuoso accompaniment on the monumental church organ. The alternation between singing together and these musical performances made the program varied and fascinating.
Thanks to the organization and the audience
Mart and Coby van Buuren deserve our special thanks for their perfect organization of this special evening. We would also like to thank all the visitors who made the evening a great success with their enthusiasm. Without you, the event would not have been the same.
We are looking forward to the Christmas carols, which will take place again on 16 and 17 December in the Oude Kerk in Maasland. We hope to welcome such a wonderful audience here again for an evening full of Christmas carols and musical highlights.
