Brassband Rijnmond is one of the top brass bands in our country. The band consists of a mix of professional musicians, conservatory students and enthusiastic amateurs, all with the same goal: to make music at the highest possible level with a healthy dose of fun.

The quality of the musicians combined with a pleasant atmosphere has led to a stable line-up and well attuned orchestra, which has led to Brassband Rijnmond playing at the national top-level for many years.

Great results at competitions and spectacular concerts have generated a lot of appreciation and an good reputation amongst audiences both at home and abroad.

Highlights are the two national titles, high rankings at the European Brass Band Championships, winning the Dutch Open Brass Band Championship twice, four Open French titles including the delivery of the gala concert of the French Open Brass Championship in a fully booked concert hall.

A small selection of the many special events in which the band participated: the World Music Competition, the Colors of Brass Festival with the participation of top soloists such as Jurgen van Rijen, Bart van Lier and Eric Vloeimans, various foreign concert tours, concerts with the Limburgian troubadour Gé Reinders and the Flemish Brel-specialist Micheline van Hautem, accompanying theatrical performances by the New Zealand Dance Company and the festive launch of a container ship in the port of Rotterdam.

The special timbre of a brass band, the wide, varied repertoire and the extensive percussion section ensure very varied concerts from mellow ballads and chorals, swinging jazz and rumba to pounding marches. A concert by Brassband Rijnmond offers something for everyone.

Since may 2023, the band is playing under the competent musical leadership of Luc Vertommen.
