Brassband Rijnmond is proud to announce that Jan Louter has been appointed honorary member of our association. With more than four decades of dedication, musicality and a warm personality, Jan has made a lasting impression.
A musical career of size
Jan Louter started with Brassband Rijnmond more than 40 years ago and quickly became a permanent fixture within the band. For years he excelled as a solo euphonium player. Later he fulfilled various positions in the bass section, with the last one being the E-bass part, always with great dedication.
With the band he has achieved numerous musical highlights, including titles during Vara's Brass Band of the Year, the Dutch Brass Band Championships, the French Open, the Dutch Open Brass Band Championships. Great results have also been achieved at European level, to which he has more than contributed. These achievements are unforgettable moments in the history of the band.
An inspiring role model
Jan Louter is not only known for his musical qualities, but also for his inexhaustible positivity, loyalty and friendship. He has taken up a unique position within the band, where he has been an inspiring example to many. His optimistic attitude and always friendly character have made him beloved by his fellow musicians, young and old.
His involvement goes beyond just musical; Jan is someone who has always been committed to Brassband Rijnmond, including as a member of the PR Committee. After every concert or performance, he provided a nice press release.
He is a role model who shows what it means to be not only a good musician, but also a good person.
A well-deserved recognition
As a token of appreciation for everything he has meant to the band, Jan Louter has been awarded the title of honorary member. This is a small gesture for the great contribution he has made to the association.
Chairman Remco Wisse presented the accompanying certificate to Jan Louter on Wednesday 25 September.
