On Tuesday 5 November, our beloved musician Jan Louter passed away at the age of 69.

Jan had been a very dedicated member of Brassband Rijnmond since 1982. For many years, he was a figurehead of our band in the position of principal euphonium. From 2000, he played in the bass section. His dedication, loyal rehearsal attendance, positivity and warm personality made him a role model for every band member. In September, he was appointed honorary member of Brassband Rijnmond, a title he fully deserved.

With Brassband Rijnmond, he experienced many highlights, including titles at the Dutch Championships, participation in the European Championships and the many foreign trips. He thoroughly enjoyed these major events, as well as the rehearsals and smaller concerts.

We will miss Jan as a musician, as a friend and as a valuable member of our band. Our thoughts go out to his wife Marja, his children and grandchildren.
