On Sunday afternoon, March 13, 2022, Harmonie Sint Gregorius from Haaren and Brassband Rijnmond, both conducted by conductor Chris Derikx, will give the first concert in the series “Surprising Encounters” in 2022.

The Surprising Encounters concert series offers professional and special stages to promote Wind Band, Fanfare and Brass Band music. Music associations work together, are supported by music professionals and the concerts serve as a showcase for new artistic and creative developments. It promises to be a unique concert in which two different, renowned orchestras will present themselves as well as possible.

The combination of concert band and brass band is a surprising encounters of timbres that are so specific to these orchestral forms. The public can therefore fully enjoy varied wind music at a high level in the beautiful Schouwburg Concert Hall Tilburg. After a much too long period in which it was not possible to perform, Brassband Rijnmond is eagerly looking forward to its first concert in 2022.

Harmonie Sint Gregorius will open the concert with the theme 'Stories and Myths', including Procession of the Nobles by Rimsky Korsakov and The Spell by Oliver Waespi. After the break, Brassband Rijnmond will give an appearance with a Scottish-Irish programme, including Jig by Gustav Holst and Riverdance by Bill Whelan. The concert will take place in Schouwburg Concert Hall Tilburg, Louis Bouwmeesterplein in Tilburg and will start at 2.30 pm. Tickets cost € 15.00 and can be ordered using the form below.
