With an impressive score of 94 points and only one point difference with the winner, Brassband De Wâldsang, Brassband Rijnmond has once again confirmed its position in the Dutch top. Under the direction of conductor Luc Vertommen, the band gave a beautiful performance of the test piece The Lost Circle by Jan van der Roost.

The jury was unanimous in its praise. Robert Childs praised the performance as “an outstanding performance.” Frans-Aert Burghgraef said: “What a band and conductor.” Bert Appermont spoke of a “beautiful sound, very well done, bravo.”

As the crowning glory, the impressive playing of the bass section was awarded the prize for the “Best Bass Section 2024 Championship Division” by the jury members.

The band appreciates the structured and inspiring approach of Luc Vertommen and praises the indispensable efforts of rehearsals Anno Appelo and Stefan van der Wilt, who optimally prepared the band with their tutti and section rehearsals.

Brassband Rijnmond congratulates Brassband De Wâldsang on their victory and Brassband Schoonhoven on their third place, and thanks the organization for a flawless event.

The band is now focusing on the preparations for the European Brass Band Championships, which will take place in Stavanger, Norway, in May 2025.
