On Sunday April 14, 2024, Brassband Rijnmond will participate in the first Brass in Deurne Festival at the invitation of organizer Academic Brass.

Together with the Belgian top brass band Festival Brass Brassband and host Academic Brass, the band will give a concert in Deurne, Belgium. An exciting brass event will be organized on April 13 and 14, 2024, including a masterclass for brass students with internationally renowned guest soloist Roger Webster on cornet and a versatile brass band concert by these three bands.

For Brassband Rijnmond, led by conductor Luc Vertommen, it is a great opportunity to put its best foot forward in Belgium as Dutch brass band champion. Festival Brass Band will use this concert as a try-out for its participation in the Flemish Open Brass Band Championship a week later in Mechelen. Brassband Rijnmond will perform part of the program that will be performed in June during the Dutch Open Brassband Championships in Groningen.

Academic Brass is a partnership between the Deurne Academy and Wilrijk Academy and consists of students from both music courses. The band is looking forward to this joint concert with its Belgian brass band friends and legend Roger Webster and recommends all brass band fans to visit this concert in Deurne.
