Brassband Rijnmond started a new season on Wednesday 26 August 2020.
A season that will look very different from usual. No NBK with the necessary preparation, no try-out concerts and unfortunately still rehearsing with corona restrictions and guidelines.
For many brass band fans and musicians, the cancellation of the NBK is a bitter pill because this is the highlight of the brass band season.
Nevertheless, Brassband Rijnmond with conductor Chris Derikx started with great enthusiasm and pleasure. It has been decided to work on a new and appealing repertoire in the near future, in which teamwork and raising the basic level of the band are the main goals.
A number of corona-proof activities are planned that can continue if the measures are not further tightened. In October the band will go on a study weekend and in November a performance with two brass bands will be prepared. Preparations for the traditional Christmas concerts have also started.
All Rijnmond residents are looking forward to it again. Band and conductor have the ambition to achieve this season with success again at a high musical level so that everyone can enjoy beautiful brass band music again.
