On Monday, June 1, 2020, Bas van Noort passed away after an illness at the age of 82.

Bas was one of the founders of Brassband Rijnmond in 1978. For years he played in the band on euphonium and baritone. Partly because of his infectious humor, commitment and drive, the band was able to develop in a short time in the band that it is now.

We remember Bas as an excellent musician with an engaging and striking personality, but above all as a fine person. With his attitude as a bon vivant and his humor, he was an example for many.

Even after his departure as a musician, Bas continued to follow us with great interest and enthusiasm. Brass band Rijnmond loses a loyal fan and brass band lover in Bas.

Shortly before his death, members of Brassband Rijnmond gave a musical greeting. He greatly appreciated this. Brass band Rijnmond is proud that we have been able to pay him this last tribute.

Our thoughts and condolences go out to his wife and family and we wish them a lot of strength to bear this loss.
